Tina’s poppies have become part of a flower arrangement that sits in her fireplace in memory of her Grandfathers, who both fought in the First World War.
“I bought my poppy after visiting the installation at The Tower of London. I bought it in remembrance of my two grandfathers, Lawrence Eaton and James (Ernie) Bollans who both fought in WW1 and were wounded and my great uncle Frederick Rothwell who lost his life on the first day of The Battle of Gallipoli. My poppy is in the fireplace in my lounge and every morning that I walk by it reminds me of what my family gave so that I could be free to enjoy my life. Lest we forget.”
