Susan talks to Professor Kate Williams about why she bought her poppy in memory of her great uncle who died in the First World War.

Susan’s great uncle, Charles Evelyn Haynes, lived on a farm in Hereford before being sent off to war. He went missing in action at the age of twenty-six and was unfortunately never found. For Susan the poppy is a remembrance for her great uncle and all the other soldiers who were lost to the War.
