Wilfred Owen’s poetry had sparked an interest in the Great War for Charlie as a child, he jumped at the opportunity to own a poppy.

“I’ve been fascinated by the lives of those who served in the Great War ever since we studied Wilfred Owen’s poetry at school. I couldn’t not buy a poppy! When I look at it, with the mud of the Tower still firmly in place, I think of the lads who gave their lives in the mud of France and Belgium.”
