I bought my poppy in memory of my Dad, who died quite a few years ago. When I was a child, he told me a lot about the wars, and was always giving me books to read about it. I was sad he didn’t get to see the poppies at the Tower, so I went for him, and bought a poppy in his memory. It makes me smile to see it on the shelf, as although the poppies commemorate such sadness, mine reminds me of my Dad, and his thirst for knowledge and history, and that’s a good thing.
