I bought the poppy myself, as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice that was made. My husband is in the Royal Air Force, so this is something that is close to my heart. When I first bought the poppy it made its way to RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire. We have since moved, as you do with the forces and the Poppy is now resident in our home at Beachley Barracks, home of the 1st battalion rifles. It sits on my kitchen window sill in a vase with a sign saying , Friends are like stars, you don’t have to see them to know they are there. This serves as an every day reminder.
