I bought two poppies, one for myself and one for my son, George. I am British but have lived in America for over twenty years and I bought the poppies because I wanted us to be connected to the past, present and future of Britain. The two poppies are displayed together in my home, but when my son grows up and is old enough to move out and get a home of his own he will take his poppy with him. The poppies will always connect us, mother and son. They are a symbol of my love and the perfect symbol of the heart and strength of Britain. Our poppies are family, they are love, they are home.
