My dad served in WW2 and was tremendously proud to have done so. He was a Captain in the Royal Engineers. I won’t live as long as to commemorate the beginning or end of WW2!
Therefore, in memory of the millions who so tragically lost their lives, their loved ones left behind, and my dad who lived a long life, I bought a poppy to remember them. I have told my eldest child that the poppy will be hers, when I have gone, and for her to pass on to her eldest and, hopefully, so it will continue through the generations, so that those lives lost will be always remembered in our little family.
