I bought the poppy for myself partly of course because I knew some of the proceeds would be donated to supporting men and women from all of the services. However it is what it actually represents in a world that has currently become so selfish and with little care or regard for others. An individual who thought of others before themselves and who was prepared to sacrifice their own hopes and aspirations for a greater good. I look at the sculpture and it reminds me however bad things are there is always hope as long we as stop looking inwards and apply ourselves to the betterment of all.
