I bought three poppies – one for my parents, one for a friend and one for a cousin.
My father served in Korea and was in the Army. He was shot and reported dead, then a week later was reported shot and in hospital – he’s currently 83.
I bought the second poppy for my cousin Sue, I gave it to her on her birthday – which was sadly the very same day her mother died. She treasures it.
The third poppy I gave to my one of my closest friends – who volunteers with the royal hospital at Chelsea.
