I was a poppy volunteer and spent a day in the moat at the tower of London helping to remove the installation, my partner who was in the Army at the time ordered me one for my 40th birthday,
It sits in its purpose built case under his medals in the hallway and is the first thing people see when they visit.
Im extremely proud to be a custodian of my poppy and to keep it safe for future generations.
it was a wonderful day i spent on the installation and was one of the chosen few who was able to handle them first hand with care and dignity,
Each one we packed was someones Son , Brother, Father, Uncle who never came home and when the poppies where sent out it was the final journey of that soldier coming home.
it was a day ill remember for a long time..
