I bought my poppy as soon as they became available for sale.
Born after the war ended I thought it would remind me of all the fallen heroes. The display from the Tower of London was spectacular and engulfed the whole meaning of Rememberance, reminding me how lucky my generation is today to have never been caught up in conflict.
The poppy is planted amongst other shrubs in a small courtyard outside my kitchen back door for me to view all the time. The sun shines on it and catches the lovely red colour poking through the greenery. Lovely.
