We bought our poppy after visiting the Tower of London, very emotive it was. My Grandad was at the Somme, my dad in the Med (RN destroyer) for the whole of WW2, and I have produced a Royal Marine, a Wren and an RAF technician , I keep my poppy in the wooden driftwood sculpture I made next to my fire, the driftwood symbolises the dead, the empty cartridges the cause and the poppy whose stem rises from a spent cartridge the fact that life goes on and will find a way to grow.
