I got our poppy mainly as a way to remember those who were involved in the 1914-18 war, and for all that they sacrificed for us. It was also for all of those involved in WW2, my Great Uncle Ron Goulding was a Mosquito Navigator, and all service personnel since then including my good friends Christopher McNally, John Land and cousin-in-law Fraser Pake.

I hope I never have to endure the stress of wondering if my children will ever return from the front line, the heartache of learning they have died in service. I cannot comprehend how strong everyone had to be.

I wanted my children to be aware of what has been sacrificed and would have got one for each of them if I could have. We all went up to see the installation at the Tower Of London and found it very moving.
