I like so many others, was blown away with the imagination and beauty of this wonderful tribute to the fallen during the first world war. I do not knowingly have a relative who I know was lost. However I believe that like many of us alive today we do have long lost family who fell, and I believe this to be a tribute not only to them, but also as a mark of respect to all.
My poppies (I have two) were bought for me by my two daughters as a gift and sit proudly on my mantle place, where I can view there splendour, where they act as an aid when I drift into quiet contemplation in this modern world, where at times we demonstrate we have not learned the lessons these great men and women paid so high a price to teach , and as a silent reminder and tribute to these heroes.
I will remember and these poppies will ensure I do!
