In 2014, I began to research the woman who brought the world the ‘Poppy Day. Madame Guérin … the Poppy Lady from France. It was she who inspired the First World War allied countries to adopt her ‘Inter-Allied Poppy Day’. Knowing my long-standing passion for the Remembrance Poppy and my newly-found passion for Poppy Lady Madame Guérin, my daughter and her family presented me with an original Tower of London poppy at Christmas 2014.
