I bought x4 poppies, x2 for myself and x2 as a gift for my mum for Christmas although it didn’t arrive until her birthday in March. I ordered my poppies whilst working abroad in Karachi, Pakistan. I didn’t, however, get to take possession of my poppy until recently, as my mum was the custodian of the poppies until my return. They now form pride of place in my fireplace in a Moet Champagne lamp. It is a great way to remember all those who have been lost in war and especially poignant for me as I was posted to Afghanistan as a civilian in 2009-2011 and the sacrifice and bravery of our soldiers and those of our international partners, was all too clear on a daily basis.
