We bought four poppies one for each of our three children and one for ourselves. Our own dad very strict with us when we were kids and whenever we passed the Cenotaph if I didn’t remove my cap it was a clip round the ear. It meant a lot to him having fought in the second world war. I wanted my children to have part of the Tower installation as a reminder to them of what had happened long before they were born as it wasn’t actually part of any curriculum of their’s at school. My wife and I visited the Tower installation travelling from Norfolk and we now live in Cheshire near our grandchildren where our poppy is. Our kids have their poppies in Alsager , Horley and Redhill. All of the children are proud they have a poppy and are well aware of its significance.
