I bought my poppy in memory of my grandfather who fortunately survived the war. He was a territorial with the Northumberland Fuseliers and went to France in April 2015. He later served in the Machine Gun Corps and in the army of occupation in Germany through into 1919. It is also in memory of my great uncle who was not so lucky. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Menin Gate. I travelled down from Northumberland to see the poppies at the tower a few days before Remembrance Day and I’m pleased to have a part of this amazing display.
