My poppy sits on the window sill, overlooking Mynydd Maio, guarding the Aber Valley in South Wales.I am proud to be the guardian of this poppy, which reminds me of all who lost their lives in WW1 including a distant relative who was born not far from here and lost his life on 29th September 1917, aged 20 and is buried at Artillery Wood Cemetery. I was able to visit Ypres and the Somme last year and paid my respects at his grave.
