I was luckily enough to have some Great War memorabilia which had a name inscribed on some pieces.
Thus, having done some research on Harry Lister Dresser who was a private in the 2nd Battalion Queen Alexandra Own Yorkshire Regiment. He fought in the 3rd Battle of Ypres (Passcendaele) and was wounded. A few days later he succumbed to his wounds and died in a casualty clearing station on the 3rd August 1917 and is buried at Lissjenhoek military cemetery in Belgium.
I visited his grave and placed a Chrome frame with a picture of him in uniform and a poppy cross.
I purchased my poppy and dedicated to him as a small gesture of my appreciation of the ultimate sacrifice he made and I have it now sitting proudly on a shelf in my front living room.
