I have always been interested in Military History. My Dad grew up through World War II and his Uncle was a Desert Rat at El Alamein. We therefore spent a lot of time talking about it when I was growing up. I thought the poppys were an amazing idea and a fitting memorial to the Soldiers who lost their lives in WWI so I bought one. It stands on my hearth and as I am an avid runner I did the Royal British Legion Poppy Run in November last year running six miles from one village war memorial to another. The Poppy Run medal is wrapped around the poppy as you can see from the photo
