I was lucky enough to be able to plant poppies at the Tower of London. It was something I was very grateful for. My great grandad died in ww1 and unfortunately he died in battle and his body was left where he died and he never had a burial. The poppies at the Tower gave us the opportunity to finally lay him to rest properly. We applied to have his name read out on the Roll of honour and we went and watched the night it was done. This combined with being able to actually plant a poppy for him was very important to us as a family and gave us the chance to give him the recognition he deserved and lay him to rest. My poppy is proudly displayed in my lounge in his honour.
Thank you so much for the chance to be able to do this. It meant so much to say thank you to all those who lost their lives and give many the goodbye they never had.
