My poppy takes pride of place in my living room. It was bought in memory of my great uncle, Private James Boylan, of the Kings Regiment (Liverpool Scottish) who was killed at Loos, Belgium on May 11th 1915 at just 18 years of age.
He had 3 older sisters who loved him very much. One was my grandmother.
I saw the poppies at the Tower of London and also at St George’s Hall in Liverpool when they came on tour.
It is one of my most treasured possessions.
