I bought my poppy as soon as they went on sale, my Dad also has one. I have placed mine on a shelf alongside a photo of my Grandad in his RAF uniform (he was in Bomber command during WW2) & photos of the graves of my Great Uncle George & his comrade John Ball Watson, who were both killed in an ambush just before the retreat to Dunkirk, & are buried next to each other. Their other comrades, killed in the same attack, are buried in a different cemetery but no one knows why.

I use my poppy as a symbol of remembrance, not just for my family members lost in war but for everyone who has given their lives in combat.
