I bought my poppy as my great great grandfather was one of the men who died in action during WW1. I keep my poppy on the windowsill in a gold glitter vase usually with bouquets of flowes. The box it came in is next to the poppy open containing a picture of my great great grandfather Levi Rimmer in his horse transporter military uniform.
He volunteered in 1916 for the army service corps. Then in 1918 during the German spring offensives he was transferred to the royal welch fusiliers to fight on the front line. Just two weeks later on 22/4/1918 he died in action. Leaving behind a wife and 5 children one of them my great nanna hilda.
