I am lucky enough to have 2 Poppies. I am a Veteran of 27 yrs Service, having served in the RAF. During my service I served in the South Atlantic, supporting ops during the Falklands war, the campaign in Bosnia and also served in Kosovo. My parents were both Veterans and I am a member of the Royal Britìsh Legion Riders Branch.
The sacrifice made during WW1 by our forefathers, and sacrifices that continue, should never be forgotten, and I will be permanently grateful and greatly saddened by them. Our freedom is ensured by those who unerringly march towards the enemy and the Poppies remind me of that sacrifice each and every day.
Lest We Forget is more than a strap line, it should be a motto by which we live in the hope that such sacrifices become unnecessary.
